PLEASE PRAY
1. That we will be a good testimony and witness to our lost loved ones and neighbors.
2. For our schedule to fill with meetings quickly for 2008 and 2009. We are having many more open doors of opportunity, and are desiring to have 50% of our needed support by the end of the year.
3. That the Lord will help us not to lose touch with our people and the burden God has given us to reach them. God has been so good to put us in contact with people who know the Native people of Alaska, and this has really continued to fuel our burden and has deepened our desire to be on the field as soon as possible.
March 26, 2008 - We are in the middle of packing for our relocation to North Carolina. Thank you for praying regarding housing - the Lord put our faith to the test and dropped the right place right into our laps on the last day before we had to return to Canada. We praise Him for leading and directing us so clearly.
We are also very excited that our daughter Abby called on the Lord for salvation a few weeks ago, and it has been amazing to see the fruit in her little heart coming out. She has been telling others about being saved, and her readiness to confess sin has really been different. In the picture of Abby below, she is pointing to the spot where she prayed to be saved (in the bathroom!)
We are rejoicing and thanking God for His goodness.
May 16, 2008 - Praise the Lord! We are just so excited to see the Lord opening doors and moving the hearts of pastors and church families to catch the burden for the Yup'ik people. Since relocating the first of April, 4 churches have joined our financial support team - each monthly support pledge brings us closer to Alaska - currently we sit at approximately 25% of our needed support. Please continue to pray that the support will come in quickly so we can be on our way as soon as possible.
Thank you for praying for us - the Lord is bringing us through a difficult trial and we are just amazed at how sufficient His grace truly is. We thank Him for teaching us the things we need to learn to prepare us for ministering to the Eskimo people.
April 16, 2008 - Thank you so much for your prayers regarding our relocation - everything went smoothly crossing the border - we were in and out in 15 minutes - God is good! We did have mechanical problems with the U-Haul truck, but God worked this out for good, allowing us to witness to the mechanic, as well as allowing us to drop the truck off at a location closer to our destination.
July 9, 2008 - We have been keeping much busier since relocating to NC - even opportunities to speak in Christian Schools and Vacation Bible Schools! Please pray for us that we will stay close to Him, and that we can see the balance of our support raised quickly. We are almost at 30% now, so that is a blessing! Others have told us that once we get past the 50% mark, deputation goes much faster. We are praying to be at that point by the end of the year (Lordwilling). Thank you for your prayers and support! Thanks so much to the Minnix family for the Chick tracts and other supplies you've sent to us - they have really been a help! Also, thanks to Liberty Baptist in Winston-Salem for the "penny offering" - that was a special blessing...
